Solaura Festival presents: Sounds of Solaura at the Great American Music Hall on July 30th! Doors at 7pm, Show at 7:30pm.

Eric Long

Sometimes funny and always entertaining, singer-songwriter Eric Long is a Bay Area roots musician and folk singer with deep and lasting ties to early country and blues. NPR’s All Songs Considered hailed his voice as carrying a “…timeless timbre that sounds well-traveled, self-reflective and pure,” while Relix called his last LP “easy to listen to and easy to love.”

With 3 solo records under his belt as well as his newly released EP ‘The Kawana Sessions (2022)," Eric has solidified himself as a staple of Northern California's folk music scene, often performing with some combination of fiddle, mandolin, banjo, bass and drums. The music is as natural and replenishing as the rain, and whether it be under twinkling stars or over coffee in the High Sierra, the trust he garners is immediate.

KATZROAR is an Oakland, CA-based trio formed of Katy Avila on vocals & bass, Rory Matthews on guitar, and Phil Steinwebber on drums. Their music combines poetic lyrics and rich vocals with silky, atmospheric guitar and laid-back grooves to create a unique yet familiar tapestry of dreamy soul psychedelia.

King Dream

King Dream is a psych-rock project from Bay Area songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Lyon. With a soulful voice, roots planted in the golden era of California psychedelia, and a wry energy that places him firmly in the 21st century, Lyon charts a path through timeless themes: disillusionment with oneself, with adulthood, with one’s country — and the discovery, time and again, that somehow there’s still plenty worthy of a love song.

Lyon, a Bay Area native, previously co-founded the folk-rock band Tumbleweed Wanderers, who toured the country for five years before disbanding in 2016. Inspired by songwriters like Jim James, Jonathan Wilson and Blake Mills, Lyon spent the next two years reinventing himself and, thanks to his vocal ability and versatility, soon became one of the most in-demand sidemen in the Bay. Playing with different bands, he picked up a few things: new instruments and arrangement techniques; a love of darker textures and moody, atmospheric sounds on electric guitar. And then an invaluable collaborator- producer: Lyon credits Graham Patzner of Whiskerman with helping to shape and carry the new project from idea to reality.
